Confronting a Counterfeit Culture

"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.”

2 Timothy:3-4, The Holy Bible, RSV, CE

Does common-sense observation suggest to you that the words above describe the world we live in today?  Does the world seem upside-down and inside-out to you?  And what is the greatest myth being sold to our culture today?  It’s the lie that the human person is no more special than any other animal, the product of mere random evolutionary processes.  Evolution may partly or wholly explain the "how" of the human person, but it will never be able to explain the "why" of the human person and the existence of a person's immortal soul.  What is the intent of this lie?  To lead those that the cultural elite declare as undesirable, which may be you, into slavery or worse -death.

The promotion of this false identity, especially to children and young adults, is at the heart of what ails America and Western civilization.  Simply, we have been told a lie regarding man’s identity, dignity, and the ultimate purpose and destiny of life.

For close to two centuries the dignity and identity of the human person has been under relentless attack.  The cultural elites in academia, politics, media, and big business, at the source of this onslaught, prefer to be lords rather than servants - and they say America doesn’t have royalty.

Many of the “kings and queens” of academia, politics, media , and big business work willingly everyday to advocate image over substance, relativism over truth, and money, sex, and power over authentic greatness.  The promotion of these false means to happiness has resulted in a counterfeit culture wrought with brokenness, injustice, and violence.  A modern “pop” culture that, unless reversed soon, will destroy and displace the American identity—an identity rooted in the religious and philosophical principles of Judaism and Christianity—an identity at the core of the political and economic systems that have produced more liberty, prosperity, and human flourishing than any another culture in history.

What is the solution to what ails America?  The promotion of the truth that the human person is “made in the image and likeness of God” and “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”  A re-awakening of the hearts and minds of the American people to an individual and common pursuit of Truth and Virtue as the means to genuine happiness.  In short, proclaiming the truth that every human person is irreplaceable and called to Authentic Greatness in Body, Mind, and Soul SM.
